Quality through and through
Volunteers are vital in fund-raising, sorting of supplies, testing of equipment and countless other support roles. We salute the efforts of many people in this story of hope from Ecuador.
"It was glaringly obvious which pieces of equipment came from the Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach/TriMedx Foundation container. The equipment arrived in good condition and was in good working order. It was heartbreaking to see equipment that did not come from us - realizing all the time and money spent on a piece of equipment that was not useable and should have never been sent," explained Jerry Anderson, TriMedx biomedical engineer, trainer, and Foundation volunteer for Tierra Nueva.
The TriMedx volunteers trained the staff in Quito with the new equipment. The people of Quito now have improved access to medical technology and, ultimately, improved healthcare services. "We are so happy and grateful to you for all your efforts and generosity. This equipment is just what we needed and will work out perfectly in our hospital. God bless you," said Patricia Jarrin, MD, Coodinadora Alianzas, Fundacion Tierra Neuva.
Bravo to our friends in Nokomis, Illinois, whose generosity for their "Bridge the Gap” Lenten 2009 campaign, coordinated through the Nokomis Ministerial Alliance, was an enormous success. Their donation to Mission Outreach of $27,000 assisted in the shipping of these medical equipment and supplies to Quito, Ecuador.
