An update - Friday, January 22, 2010
In response to the Haiti earthquake on January 12, the equivalent of six 40-foot shipping containers full of 50 tons of supplies (valued at more than $999,000) have been sent to Haiti from Mission Outreach.
Shipments to Haiti:
Today, a shipment weighing more than 21,500 lbs. (valued at $162,109) was sent in cooperation with Food for the Poor.
This weekend we will donate medical supplies to a team of 20 medical personnel from Rush University Medical Center, one of our Partners in Recycling. The team will leave for Haiti on Monday, Jan. 25, carrying the supplies with them.
Early next week, a tentative shipment is scheduled in cooperation with Food for the Poor.
We continue to work with the U.S. Navy, Food for the Poor, and Catholic Medical Missions Board to send relief where it’s desperately needed.
